Reverie Crumb Bakery is a small home bakery in Oakville, Ontario. We ask for as little as we can and only what an order actually needs. This page explains what that is, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
When you place an order we ask for your name, email address and phone number, along with the items you chose, your pickup date and anything you write in the notes box. We need these to bake the right thing and to reach you on the day.
We also collect basic usage information about how visitors move through this website — pages viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and which device was used. This is counted in aggregate and is not used to identify you.
Your card details
We never see them. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own checkout page. Your card number does not pass through this website and is not stored by us at any point. Stripe tells us only that a payment succeeded, along with the name and email you entered.
Who else handles your information
Running a bakery website means using a few outside services. Each one sees only the part it needs:
- Stripe — takes the payment, holds the payment record, and keeps a customer record under your email address so a returning customer is recognised as one.
- Airtable — where your order is written down so we know what to bake and for when.
- Vercel — hosts this website and serves its pages.
- Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics — count visits so we can see which pages are useful.
These providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where local authorities may be able to access it under their own laws. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services listed above.
Email from us
Every order brings the emails it needs — your receipt from Stripe, and anything we have to tell you about that particular order. Those are part of the order rather than marketing.
We keep a customer record with Stripe under your email address, so we recognise you when you order again. It is also how a first-order discount can tell a new customer from a returning one.
If we ever send occasional news — a new dessert, a seasonal box — it will go only to people who asked for it by ticking the box when they ordered. Every message will say plainly that it comes from Reverie Crumb and will carry a link that unsubscribes you in one click, and you can always simply tell us to stop.
Cookies
Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which pages people actually read. Your choice on the cookie notice is remembered in your own browser's storage so we do not ask again on every page.
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. The ordering pages will still work.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept while we need them for baking, for handling any problem with an order, and for the bookkeeping and tax records a business is required to hold. After that they are deleted.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Message us and we will answer — there is no form to fill in.
One limit worth stating plainly: we cannot delete a record we are legally required to keep for tax purposes until that period has passed.
Children
This website is meant for adults placing orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
